Center for Public Policy Studies (Puskepi) requested that the government immediately press the development of processing crude oil into fuel oil (BBM).

Director Puskepi Sofyano Zakaria in Jakarta on Monday, said the existence of the factory in Indonesia have been urged to meet the needs of the fuel increased.

According to him, that Singapore does not have oil fields, has a factory with the results of a large amount of foreign exchange.

He is also expected, the product of a crude oil to reach 900,000 to one million barrels per day processed at the factory in the country.

Sofyano added, the government must also continue to encourage and support PT Pertamina (Persero) to build factory.

Pertamina is targeting self or own production factory that is capable of sufficient type needs premium fuel, kerosene, and diesel fuel in the country will be achieved in the year 2017.

Projects will be done in order to achieve self-sufficient fuel capacity is Plaju Golf, Cilacap, Balikpapan, Dumai, and expansion Balongan.

In addition, Pertamina planned development of two new factory Refinery in Banten Bay Banten, East Java Refenery in Situbondo, East Java.

In the year 2017, factory-Pertamina targeted factory able to produce the fuel product of 1.503 million barrels per day, while demand is estimated to reach 1.612 million barrels per day.

The remaining requirement, covered fuel from vegetable products (BBN) and the liquefaction of coal.

Currently, Pertamina has six crude oil processing factory with a total production capacity sebesr 1.031 million barrels per day.

Golf is the last built Pertamina Golf Balongan in Indramayu, West Java which began operating in 1994.
