BUSINESS INFORMATION - Regent Lebong Dalhadi Umar, Monday, said the rice field cultivation in the district was interested investors from Dubai.

He dismissed rumors that investors Dubai plans to open palm oil plantations in Lebong which he could not be realized because more than 70 percent of the area is Lebong conservation area.

The truth, he said, is the plan to develop 450 hectares of rice fields to increase production and welfare of local communities.

The area is in District Pinang Village Belapis especially Ketenong I and II Ketenong most still use traditional irrigation.

Investment is expected to improve the welfare of local communities because about 40 percent of the people Lebong were below the poverty line.

In addition to optimizing the area of paddy fields, Regency will also Lebong intensification coffee business by bringing seeds so that the public is not penetrated the forest.
