BUSINESS INFORMATION - A total of 15 SOEs Open (SOEs listing in the stock market) recorded a total market capitalization of Rp521, 68 trillion, or 31.42 percent of the total market capitalization of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

Sofyan said the overall performance of both SOEs and non-Open Open showed improvement, reflected by the achievement of net income.

If in the year 2004 net profit of the entire state of Rp36, 94 trillion, then in 2008 jumped so Rp77, 86 trillion or an increase of 110.75 percent.

At the same time, as many as 20 state-owned enterprises in 2004 contributed a net profit of 84.61 per cent, in the year 2008 increased to 90.70 percent.

Sofyan added, from 36 state-owned sector, increase in total profit improvement triggered mining sector reached Rp23, 77 trillion or 260 percent jump.

Further increase in the telecommunications sector Rp4 trillion net profit rose 61 percent, the plantation sector Rp2, 41 trillion, up 384 trillion and the cement sector increased by Rp2, 13 trillion or an increase of 407 percent.

As for state-owned enterprises recorded losses, Sofyan said, adding, during the four year (2005-2008) the number fell from 25 to 23 state-owned companies.

The contribution of the largest losses of PLN Rp2, 02 trillion in 2004 and Rp12, 3 trillion in 2008.
