Indonesia Garment Exports Down 0.8 Percent


Impact of financial crisis that the world still gave negative results for the garment business in Indonesia. Executive Director of the Indonesian Textile, Retmo, say, the impact of financial crisis that occurred in the United States some time ago affect the volume of Indonesian garment exports down about 0.8 percent.

Occurred despite a decrease in export volume, but for the domestic market in one quarter in 2009 increased about 25 percent.

Currently, China is more market decline, as exports to the United States, Europe and Japan also came down.

The market share of garment and Textil origin is United States, then Europe and Japan.

Besides Indonesia, the export volume of China, India and Mesiko as suplayer United States still has to eskpor conutry also decreased almost 3 percent.

However, more Retmo, there are some countries which export to the United States would increase, such as Vietnam and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, exports to the country of Indonesia is also down about 0.8 percent.

The decline in exports compared with the increase in sales in the domestic market 25 prsen is still low.

However, Retmo still optimismtis semester II on condition that began to recover again. Such as China, South Korea and Taiwan, while this condition start rising again slightly.

While Japan and the United States that the recovery is quite long, may be the end of the year 2009, estimated on the quarterly export volume to the four countries that back significantly.
