Leaders Meet Opel and Fiat study Akusisi


Leaders of Italian automotive company, Fiat on Monday a meeting with partners from the German Opel, a subsidiary of General Motors, with the possible acquisition, said a source close to the company.

Sergio Marchionne has met the leaders General Motors (GM) Europe Carl-Peter Forster and Opel head Hans Demant for two hours in length Ruesselsheim, cities in the west of Germany, which is the basis for Opel company, said the source.

Fiat are to take deliberate Opel - which has 26,000 employees in Germany directly - after an alliance with competitors GM, Chrysler.

Germany has requested the government to investors who are interested to submit a plan for Opel on Wednesday.

Automotive component manufacturing company Magna Canada related to the Russian vehicle company Gaz, and the U.S. investment company Ripplewood is a company interested in taking over Opel.
