BUSINESS INFORMATION - National motorcycle sales during August 2009 reached the highest number compared to previous months during 2009. Even when compared with previous months during 2008, sales for August 2009 continue to reach record highs.
Data released from the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industries (AISI) Wednesday, during the August 2009 sales reached 626,353 units. So the total sales of motorcycles during 8 months of 2009 reached 3,718,050 units, or only around 60 percent of total sales in 2008.
Meanwhile, Honda motorcycle brand still dominates the national motorcycle sales with a market share of about 46 percent or as many as 1,698,558 units. Following the Yamaha brand motorcycles as much as 1,683,778 units, or with 45.3 percent market share.
