BUSINESS INFORMATION - Wall Street's main index jumped to the highest position of the new 2009 local time on Thursday, as news companies are generally optimistic and positive economic data to help extend the increase for the fifth day.

Apart from the opening of the less enthusiastic, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 78.30 points (0.82 percent) to 9625.52 at the closing bell.

Composite index of technology stocks lifted the Nasdaq 23.63 points (1.15 percent) to 2084.02 and the broader market indicators indels Standard & Poor `s 500 rose 10.63 points (1.03 percent) to 1044.00 early closure.

Analysts at Charles Schwab & Co. said the mood helped by the prospect of rising profits revision of key companies such as consumer products group Procter & Gamble and Texas Instruments semiconductor makers.
