BUSINESS INFORMATION - RI delegation led by Ambassador Soemadi Brotodiningrat, together with the Japanese delegation, made a presentation on Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJ-EPA) in the trial Committee on Regional Trade Agreements (Crta) the WTO, the WTO Headquarters, Geneva.

This presentation is a step in Indonesia and Japan comply with the principle of transparency in the WTO, said the First Secretary Mission Yasmi Adriansyah.

Japan is the largest export destination countries are expected to Indonesia so that this cooperation can further strengthen economic relations between the two countries. In recent years, Indonesia has recorded a trade surplus with Japan.

Presentation Delegation Delegation of Indonesia and Japan is part of Indonesia's commitment to increase transparency and to all WTO member countries to know more profound impact and benefits of IJ-EPA on the multilateral trading system.

This is to ensure that the bilateral trade of RI-Japan does not conflict with the multilateral trading system that governed the WTO.

This is evidenced by the harmonization of the rules in the IJ-EPA with the WTO provisions, particularly Article XXIV General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and Article V General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS).

For Indonesia, the IJ-EPA is a means to further promote the development levels of developing countries that animates the various provisions and ideals of the WTO (including the Marrakesh Agreement and the Doha Development Agenda).

RI Delegation Presentation at the WTO commitments as well as the evidence of economic policy transparency promised Indonesia in various international forums like the G-20 Summit London, Cairns Group Ministerial Meeting Bali, G-8 Plus L? Aquilla, and the APEC MRT Singapore.
